I wrote this song with Imad Royal and Dave Lubben. My life and relationship were a mess at the time, so it’s sort of surreal looking back to the day we wrote it, not knowing at that time whether my wife and I would make it. It’s scary when you’ve exhausted all conversation, and I feel like a lot of those frustrations ended up in the song. There’s also a few lines in the first verse from Dave, already speaking from a place of my wife and I making it through, which is really beautiful to look back on now.
